Post-Doctoral Position in LLM Supported Computational Design Synthesis for Engineering Design

The Engineering Design and Computing Laboratory is offering a fully-funded post-doctoral position to work on cutting-edge research projects in AI-based computational design methods.
Job description
With the rise in developments of and interest in generative AI and transformer-based architectures, this position will investigate new computational approaches to use LLMs to support computational design synthesis and generative engineering design across different representations. A variety of potential application areas will be investigated including consumer products, machine design and structures.
Profile
We are looking for excellent applicants with a Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related area of study, who are motivated to carry out internationally leading research. Knowledge in one or more of the following topics is sought: engineering design, computational design and optimization, formal languages, engineering design grammars, representation learning, and natural language processing.
