Program Manager for the ETH Accelerator

80%-100%, Zurich, fixed-term

ETH Entrepreneurship is the staff unit of the Vice President Knowledge Transfer and Corporate Relations that promotes entrepreneurship at ETH and supports aspiring ETH founders in launching their new ventures. ETH spin-offs are deep technology ventures based on research results from ETH Zurich. More than 30 ETH spin-offs are founded each year.

Project background

The Pioneer Fellowship Deep-Tech Incubation Program is already a highly successful program for ETH spin-offs and has been running for 15 years. ETH start-ups, on the other hand, are technology companies based on their founders' knowledge acquired at ETH Zurich. With the planned introduction of the new ETH start-up label in 2025, we expect 40-60 ETH start-ups per year. To support these start-ups, ETH Zurich is launching an acceleration program together with UBS this fall. Therefore, we are looking to expand our team with a Program Manager for the ETH Accelerator.

Job description

In this role, you will report directly to the Head of the Accelerator Program. You will be responsible for the coordination and development of the Accelerator Program, including but not limited to planning and organizing of the program schedule, managing the selection process, interacting with applicants, the evaluation committee and other stakeholders, organizing and running entrepreneurship workshops, bootcamps and other community events. You will also track and analyze the success of the program and gather feedback from the participants to support the program leadership in the continuous strategic development of the Accelerator Program. During the three-month program, you will be the main point of contact for the “Accelerator Fellows”. In addition, you will support the program management of the Pioneer Fellowship Deep-Tech Incubation Program and interact with the rest of the ETH Entrepreneurship team and other ETH units such as ETH Foundation, ETH transfer, Student Project House, ETH Entrepreneur Club, etc.

Profile

To be successful in this role, you have a university degree, ideally in a technical field, and have 2 - 5 years of experience in the start-up or venture incubation field and are passionate about driving entrepreneurial excellence. You are a highly (self-) motivated and entrepreneurial individual who takes initiative and works proactively. You are a good communicator and a team player who enjoys interacting with colleagues and start-up founders. You value other points of view and know how to combine them with your own ideas. You enjoy and are good at management as well as organizational and coordination tasks and are fluent in English and German.

This position is fixed term 80 – 100% and available immediately, initially for 1 year with the option to extend for the duration of the Accelerator Program. In the months of November to January and April to June, presence in the office is required every Thursday (including evening community events).
