Administrative Assistant at the Center for Law & Economics

The Center for Law & Economics at ETH Zurich is part of the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences. Our research focuses on intellectual property law, contract law, experimental law and economics, political economy, law & tech, and legal applications of machine learning. Together with various Swiss university partners, the Center co-organizes regular Workshop and Lecture Series on Law & Economics and the Law & Economics of Innovation.

We are looking for a proactive and committed Administrative Assistant immediately or by arrangement.

 

Job description

The administrative assistant will be part of the administration team of the center and will support three professors and their groups in their work in various administrative and organizational matters. Your area of responsibility includes finance (invoices, expenses, project management incl. reporting), personnel (new arrivals and departures, personnel mutations and supervision of academic guests) and the support of the professors and their research groups in administrative matters in day-to-day business. Other tasks include procurement, exam planning, organizing events for the groups and the center (such as seminars, conferences, and internal events) and acting as a contact person within the research group for questions of administrative nature.

Profile

  • You have a commercial education or university degree and ideally have experience as an administrative assistant and event planning
  • In addition to knowledge of German, a very good command of English (written and oral) is required
  • You enjoy working in a team and have the necessary social and communication skills to do so
  • You proactively contribute to a good atmosphere within the group with your work
  • Taking details seriously while maintaining an overview is an appealing challenge for you
  • A quick grasp and flexibility help you to cope in a fast-paced working environment
