The Research Analytics Services group, hosted by the section Research Support Services and Acquisitions, is hiring a specialist in library and information science as team member of the NAIF project (National Approach for Interoperable repositories and Findable research results, https://eth-library.github.io/naif/), co-funded by swissuniversities and eight Swiss higher education institutions. The position is to be filled on 1 September 2025 and is limited until 30 September 2026.
Project background
In this role, you will support the project lead at ETH Library in managing the NAIF project, encompassing seven other Swiss Higher Education Institutions (HEI). Your main tasks will be to contribute to the work packages for which ETH Library is responsible, i.e. review of institutional repositories, enhancement of national and global academic data. You will compile reports and other project deliverables. Furthermore, you will support the organisation of the project (meetings, minutes, communication, documentation, cost tracking). In order to fulfil these tasks, it is essential to closely collaborate with all the project partners within ETH Library and at the other Swiss HEIs.

Contribute to the project, including
- Performing an inventory together with a gap analysis of Swiss institutional repositories in terms of implemented standards and certifications, metadata availability, quality and completeness
- Collaborating and communicating with stakeholders in Switzerland and internationally
- Contributing to enhance the quality of national and global academic data through the development of strategies for long-term data quality improvement and data curation, including persistent identifiers for organizations, researchers and funding
- Supporting the writing of reports on responsible monitoring and research assessment and on national approaches to increase the findability of research output
Profile
- You hold a Master's degree in library science, information science or a related field. Prior experience with institutional repositories or in a university library is an advantage
- You show prior experience or strong interest around interoperability and standardization of institutional repositories and metadata standards
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and German, (additional Swiss national languages such as French or Italian are an asset, and you are able to write clear, structured reports
- You enjoy engaging with diverse stakeholders from different institutions.
- You have experience in managing collaborative projects and are confident in managing work packages and timelines. You coordinate organisational tasks with ease, keeping stakeholders aligned and informed.
- You demonstrate strong attention to detail and analytical thinking, and a systematic way of working
- You have a strong interest or prior experience in the Swiss research landscape, scholarly communication, dissemination of research output and research assessment methods
