The Industrial Robotics Group at ETH Zürich, is rapidly growing and focuses on pressing challenges in robot-based manufacturing. Utilizing advanced computational methods, machine learning, modeling, and custom hardware, we test our solutions in various real-world projects with industry.

Project background

We foster a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and no BS, where facts, learnings, and results are of utmost importance. We maintain our own state-of-the-art laboratory and our goal is to develop the essential technologies and methods needed to create fully integrated, autonomous, and highly reliable systems for manufacturing.

Job description

We seek a dynamic and versatile intern with a robotics background and a hands-on attitude. The ideal candidate is keen to learn the intricacies of computational industrial robotics in a fast-paced research environment. Your tasks include:

  • Support the team by taking on side-quests in software, algorithms, and mechatronics
  • Taking over subtasks as a part of a team member in one of our research projects
  • Maintaining and extending our infrastructure (sw and hw)
  • Initiating your own project fitting your skills and interests

Profile

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a renowned university, EPFL and ETH students are highly welcome
  • Mechanical- and Software-Engineering experience, demonstrated by a proven track record of successful (student) projects
  • Having taken part in a focus-project at DMAVT-ETHZ is a huge plus (highlight this in your CV)
  • Demonstrable organizational skills and the ability to make decisions independently
  • Hands-on experience in Python and/or C++
