The Industrial Robotics Group at ETH Zürich, is rapidly growing and focuses on pressing challenges in robot-based manufacturing. Utilizing advanced computational methods, machine learning, modeling, and custom hardware, we test our solutions in various real-world projects with industry.

Project background

We foster a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and no BS, where facts, learnings, and results are of utmost importance. We maintain our own state-of-the-art laboratory and our goal is to develop the essential technologies and methods needed to create fully integrated, autonomous, and highly reliable systems for manufacturing.

Job description

In this role you are leading two projects: (1) the control of a secondary kinematic system for increasing stiffness and dynamics in robotic machining and (2) the control of a novel ultra high-performance heavy payload industrial robot actuated by direct drives.

  • Lead the robotic machining research initiative
  • Be the go-to person concerning all control topics
  • Contribute to the development of a new lecture at ETH Zürich
  • Regularly publish in top-tier journals
  • Mentor and lead junior researchers, engineers, and students

Profile

  • PhD from a leading university in robotics and control
  • An extensive portfolio of influential publications pertinent to our field
  • Proficiency in Python and C++
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to research
