Student Research Assistant for Sustainable Consumption

10%-30%, Zurich, fixed-term

The Centre for Energy Policy and Economics (CEPE) at ETH Zurich is seeking a student research assistant to work on the project ‘Sustainable Consumption’. The objective of this project is to identify factors that impact sustainable consumption.

Job description

The student will assist in searching data sources and assembling a database. They will work closely with the research team on the following activities:

  • Writing scripts for the automated collection and cleaning of data, and organizing it into a database
  • Computing simple statistics
  • Preparing graphical representations
  • Testing surveys.

Profile

  • Enrollment as a student at ETH Zurich or the University of Zurich in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, economics and mathematics
  • Intermediate coding skills in R, Stata, or Python
  • Basic knowledge of databases (i.e., SQL) and JavaScript language is a plus

We offer

Starting in July or August and continuing until December 2025 with possibility to extend.
The anticipated workload per week may vary between 4 and 10 hours, hourly wage.

You’ll have a workplace in our offices in the ZUE building (D-MTEC, Zurichbergstrasse 18).
