Scientific Assistant in Architectural Theory

The Chair of the Theory of Architecture at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture (gta) at ETH Zurich is looking for a scientific assistant (60%) to begin in Summer 2025.

Job description

The position involves teaching the history and theory of architecture, collaborating on the chair's research projects, and assisting the chair with administrative tasks. Candidates are also expected to work on an independent research project during their time as scientific assistants. 

Profile

  • A Master’s degree in architecture with professional experience or alternatively a PhD in the humanities and social sciences (history, art history, cultural history, ethnography, etc.) is required. 
  • Knowledge of German is desirable but not required.
  • We particularly encourage applications from candidates with experience in architectural practice who wish to strengthen their skills in teaching and researching the history and theory of architecture.
