Site Reliability Engineer / System Administrator
The Network Security Group of Prof. Dr. Adrian Perrig, Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer / System Administrator
In this position, you will play a mission-critical role in designing, building, and operating globally distributed computing / networking infrastructures at ETH Zurich. Your responsibilities will include spearheading infrastructure, devops, PKI, and reliability initiatives; building tools for automation, deployment, monitoring and operations; troubleshooting issues across the entire stack, from network and OS to applications as well as procuring and configuring the hardware and software stack needed to run our infrastructure.
You should be independent and self-driven, have experience with operations, maintenance, site reliability engineering, and security, configuration management technologies (Ansible) as well as Linux at scale and the Linux networking stack. Advanced knowledge of all layers of computer networking and good English knowledge are also required.
You ideally have a bachelor degree or advanced degree in computer science and already have 3+ years of professional experience, strong scripting (Bash, Bourne Shell), Go and Python skills, experience with modern container systems (Docker, Vagrant, etc.), a strong understanding of current Internet security issues, and threats as well as experience in scaling technical infrastructures. Additionally, experience with some of the following is helpful: AWS EC2, Docker, LXC, SSH, Postgres, Wireguard, Prometheus. The starting date is as soon as possible.
