Lecturer Position in Organic Chemistry – Teaching and Laboratory Coordination

80%-100%, Zurich, fixed-term

We invite applications for a teaching position in Organic Chemistry to join our dynamic and internationally recognized Laboratory of Organic Chemistry. We seek an individual passionate about classroom teaching and laboratory education, with a strong background in organic synthesis and safety, to support our growing undergraduate Study Programs.

Job description

  • Teach two large introductory organic chemistry lectures at the undergraduate level.
  • Contribute to the “Chemie für Mediziner” lecture course.
  • Organize and coordinate three laboratory courses focused on organic synthesis.
  • Oversee laboratory safety, including training safety officers within research groups.
  • Additional contributions to organic chemistry lectures and chemistry laboratory courses as needed
  • Opportunities for the development of new undergraduate and advanced lectures and the implementation of new teaching modalities.

Profile

  • A PhD in Organic Chemistry with significant hands-on experience in organic synthesis.
  • Thorough understanding of safety in research and laboratory courses in organic chemistry.
  • Interest in adopting and implementing modern teaching methods to enhance student learning.
  • Ability to teach in both English and German (fluency required).
  • Prior teaching experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
