The newly founded Artificial Visual Intelligence group (AVI), under the umbrella of the Chair of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (PRS), focuses on developing hybrid, data-driven yet informed, visual perceptual intelligence for conformity and better generalization, enabling embodied AI such as autonomous cars and robots.
Job description
We have multiple open PhD positions at AVI@PRS and we are looking for motivated candidates with a strong background in computer vision, machine learning and artificial intelligence to join our group! PRS offers an international, diverse and team-based academic environment, with strong interactions among its researchers and excellent, long-standing research achievements in the field of computer vision and beyond. The research of AVI in particular will be strongly connected with world-leading industrial partners, combining fundamental research on core areas of vision such as geometric perception, inverse rendering, neural reconstruction, and segmentation with cutting-edge real-world applications.
Profile
- You hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, data science, robotics, or a related field
- You have a strong theoretical course-based and practical project-based background in computer vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence
- You are driven by a strong passion to create fundamental scientific innovation in computer vision and artificial intelligence that can be used to help serve humanity better
- You are proficient in English
- You thrive in diverse, international environments and you are a good team player
Optional plus points:
- Background in computer graphics or reinforcement learning
- First-author publication(s) at top-tier computer vision and AI conferences or journals
