Post doc in applied data science

Our research group in the field of Management Information Systems (Wirtschaftsinformatik) is looking for a post doc starting in early or late 2020. We are located at the Department of Management, Technology and Economics (MTEC).

Our research is driven by the strong desire to conquer the grand challenges of our society, such as healthcare, fake news, or other applications in business analytics. For this purpose, we draw upon recent advances in neural learning and/or probabilistic modeling.

Job description

The tentative post doc is grounded in neural learning and/or probabilistic modeling.

Key work activities are centered around research (that can be freely chosen in alignment with the Professorship). Our research facility is always open to our members' own proposals and further suggestions. Target outlets of our joint research should be WWW, KDD, and so forth. The ability to supervise PhDs is a plus, as well as active participation in the class "Business Analytics". 

Your office is located in the heart of Zurich - most likely Europe's most compelling place to live. You will work with a highly motivated team of young researchers in a very pleasant atmosphere. In the past, candidates have accomplished positions at stellar universities such as the University of Oxford. For the duration of the Post doc, participation in conferences and voluntary exchange programs are also supported. The salary and general working conditions are internationally highly competitive and in accordance with ETH standards.

Your profile

An extensive research record in applied data data science is required. When applying, candidates are especially asked to list papers that are "in progress" or "under revision" in order to allow for a holistic assessment.

Work is almost entirely research-centered with limited teaching duties. The starting date can be freely chosen. Candidates will be screened on a continuous basis until the position has been filled.
