Digital Good Clinical Practice Manager
To support teaching and research, the IT Services (ITS) of ETH Zurich are working as a service organization in a large and complex IT environment. Scientific IT Services (SIS, a section of ITS) aim at bridging the gap between computational research and IT service and infrastructure provisioning and provide a stimulating, flexible and family-friendly working environment. SIS are working closely together with ETH researchers to provide support in the wide area of scientific computing from data management and analysis, development of scientific software to the operation of high-performance and cloud computing infrastructures. SIS are currently seeking to appoint a Digital Good Clinical Practice Manager.
Your primary responsibility will be leading a project to create a digital data platform for Good Clinical Practice (GCP)-compliant research with sensitive clinical trial data. As technical project lead, you will establish the GCP certification of the platform, guided by the ECRIN standard and lead the subsequent certification. The project will build on the established, secure “Leonhard Med” data and compute platform of ETH Zurich. After successful certification, your responsibility will be to ensure and supervise the GCP-compliant operation of the platform, handle incidents relevant for GCP, support the biomedical research community at ETH Zurich and beyond with GCP-compliant data management and usage of the platform, as well as organize and lead re-certifications. The responsibilities include hands-on verification of computer and network setups. You will work in a team of experts for digital infrastructure, IT security, research data management and scientific computing.
The successful candidate has a master, or an MD or a PhD in computer science, health science or an adjacent domain, an education in GCP monitoring, clinical data management, or a related topic, as well as practical experience with clinical trials. In addition, she or he is computer-savvy, a fast learner and willing to acquire the necessary hands-on IT skills. In addition to analytical abilities, this position requires a solid mastery of the English language, an open and communicative personality with good presentation skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and requests at the same time, as well as a customer-oriented attitude. The position is located in Zurich. Occasional travels to other Swiss academic institutions or conferences are expected.
The position is initially limited to 2 years with a perspective of converting it to a permanent position on successful project completion, contingent on the decision of the ETH Executive Board.
