Scientific assistant in architectural research and pedagogy

Atavism - Chair of Architecture Heritage and Sustainability (Prof. Mariam Issoufou) is looking for a scientific assistant to join our team to start as soon as possible.

Job description

You will work within the teaching and research teams in a role that bridges the research thematics and the teaching activities with a particular focus on post-colonial theories. With the teaching team, you will assist in the content development of the semester and supervise research done by students. In cooperation with the research team members, you will develop ongoing and further projects oriented to post-colonial epistemologies and contribute to academic publications as well as those aimed at a broader audience.

Profile

  • PhD or equivalent scientific research experience in architecture and/or post-colonial studies
  • Experience working with students
  • Strong writing competenices and a proven publication track record
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Respect and responsibility towards yourself and others
  • Deep interest in and identification with the ethos of the Chair (see our website for further details). Ideally you share an interest or expertise in architectural heritage, sustainable construction and/or an intersectional approach to architectural design
  • Strong English language abilities, as the working language of the team is English
  • Availability to work on site at the Hönggerberg Campus
  • Intermediate to advanced German language skills are advantageous but not required
