2020 Internship Program
The Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich is a center of competence for Swiss and international security policy. It offers security policy expertise in research, teaching, and consultancy.
We offer four six-week internships to graduate and undergraduate students in international relations in their final year of study. Interns will contribute to the CSS research projects, assist the senior researchers with their research, editorial, and networking activities, and co-author articles with CSS researchers in one of the following areas: Swiss/Transatlantic/European/Global security, mediation and peace support (mainly preparation and realization for RMC course), socio-technical resilience/emerging technologies/civil protection, cyber security, and nuclear deterrence and disarmament.
Further details regarding the internship, terms and conditions, and the application procedure and required documents are available on our: Webseite
The CSS is a multi-lingual working environment, so proficiency in English alongside at least one Swiss national language is required. Please note that due to Swiss labor laws only EU 25 / EFTA nationals may apply.
We look forward to receiving your online application including a one page statement of purpose outlining your research interests and why you would like to work at the CSS, a CV, one writing sample in English (e.g. a university paper or an article), and two letters of recommendation no later than 2.2.2020. Please note that we exclusively accept applications submitted through our online application portal. Applications via email or postal services will not be considered.
Further information about the Center for Security Studies can be found on our website www.css.ethz.ch For questions about the position, please contact Daniel Frey, email@example.com (no applications).
