The Computational Robotics Laboratory is a cutting-edge research lab dedicated to developing next-generation robotic systems and robotic materials. Our laboratory is at the forefront of this research, and we are seeking a highly qualified mechatronics engineer to join our team.

Job description

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Mechatronics Engineer with a background in mechatronics and materials. You will play a crucial role in overseeing our state-of-the-art robotics and additive manufacturing equipment. Supporting research projects through designing and building experimental setups, physical prototypes, and demonstrators is another key responsibility. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to actively participate in research projects. The main tasks for this position are:

  • Assist in the design, development, and optimization of robotic systems and material-related projects.
  • Manage and maintain the robotics and additive manufacturing equipment in the laboratory.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of laboratory equipment, following established protocols and safety standards.
  • Oversee inventory and procurement of laboratory supplies and materials.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and research activities.
  • Provide training and guidance to students and researchers using the laboratory facilities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of equipment maintenance and experiments.
  • Participate in research activities, including data collection, analysis, and publication.

Your profile

  • MSc or, ideally, PhD in a relevant field (Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related discipline).
  • Strong expertise in mechatronics, with a deep understanding of robotics and additive manufacturing systems.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining complex laboratory equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices for laboratory environments.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to evolving research needs.
