Bioinformatician for Omics Data Analysis and Computational Genomics
100%, Zurich, fixed-term
The Laboratories of Regenerative and Muscle Biology (Prof. Ori Bar-Nur) and Nutrition and Metabolic Epigenetics (Prof. Ferdinand von Meyenn) at ETH Zurich, in collaboration with the Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ), offer a joint position for a bioinformatician to work on omics data.
Project background
The Laboratory of Regenerative and Movement Biology (RMB) is a multidisciplinary and interactive group of scientists focused on translating basic research findings into therapeutically applicable treatments. The lab operates at the intersection of molecular and cellular biology, cell-based therapies, and tissue engineering.
The Laboratory of Nutrition and Metabolic Epigenetics (NME) focuses on the relationship between nutrition, metabolism, and gene regulation.
The Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ) is a joint core facility of ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich that applies the latest omics technologies for biomolecular research and personalized medicine. The FGCZ Genome Informatics group supports researchers with the analysis and interpretation of large-scale datasets, in particular next generation sequencing (NGS) data. The team covers raw data processing, high-performance computing, statistical evaluation, interpretation, and integrated analysis. The team runs an excellent open source based software environment and establishes state-of-the-art data analysis concepts and algorithms.
