Technical Specialist for sustainable products design

In SUPERLab, we contribute to the research area of sustainable process systems engineering by developing advanced mathematical tools underpinned by life cycle thinking for the assessment and optimisation of more sustainable processes and by promoting the widespread use of these methods in a great variety of applications to facilitate the transition towards a more sustainable economy.

Project background

The Sustainable Process Systems Engineering lab is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Technical Specialist to join our team for one year. The candidate will develop designs for products based on our research on sustainability topics, define a strategy to distribute such products for outreach purposes, and collaborate in research activities on sustainable fashion. The contract duration is one year, and the dedication is part time (60%).

Job description

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To develop designs for products (clothes among others) based on sustainability topics investigated in our lab to support outreach activities.
  • To develop a strategy to distribute such products and raise general awareness on technical sustainability topics.
  • To support research activities on sustainable fashion, helping to disseminate the results.

Profile

  • BSc in engineering or a scientific discipline. 
  • Experience in graphic design and illustration, ideally in technical/scientific topics.
  • Experience in research activities in a technical field.
  • Knowledge of life cycle assessment, ideally applied to sustainable fashion.
  • Good communication skills, ability to work effectively in teams and good organizational & planning skills.
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of German would be a plus.
