The Sustainability in Business Lab is a “think and do tank” with the goal to achieve real-world impact that drives the transitions towards a net-zero and circular economy. Sus.lab brings sustainability research into practice through highly collaborative projects with industry, policy makers, and academia.

Join us at the Sustainability in Business Lab at ETH Zurich (sus.lab) and help us to enable a net-zero and circular economy. We are looking for an impact-driven project manager with a background in sustainability, technology, and business.

Job description

  • Support the project leads in developing impactful results for first-of-its-kind industry-related research projects (including FARM4HH)
  • Be expected to work largely independently on your tasks, guided by and in collaboration with the respective project team
  • Support in writing research and third-party funding proposals

Profile

To apply, you must:

  • Have up to one year of relevant work experience (e.g. consulting, strategy, entrepreneurship, policy); internships included
  • Hold a completed master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. sustainability, engineering, environmental science, business)
  • Be fluent in German (native level), English (C1), and either Italian or French (C1)
  • Be based in Switzerland and work in Zurich by start of contract (remote work is not possible)
  • Be able to start the position by August 2025 at the latest

  • Have strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Are accustomed to delving into the details of new topics, particularly technologies
  • Have experience in conducting focus groups or other qualitative research methods
  • Know how to manage and engage a variety of stakeholders
  • Are enthusiastic about and experienced in technical writing, particularly reports

The contract for the position of Scientific Assistant I is initially limited to one year, with the intention of a multi-year employment relationship and the possibility to progress to Scientific Assistant II (Senior Project Manager).
